Hi has anyone insured their Raptor? I was considering it I live in Mass. but my parents have a place in southern N.H. so I could insure it there.

Is it worth doing this?
Any suggestions on who to get insurance from?

TIA,
-Jeff

You need insurance on that $6500 toy! WHen you and your Raptor wind up going different ways, it's gonna be expensive to fix! Besides that, it could be stolen. I pay about $150 for full coverage on my Raptor. Call around and get the best price / best coverage.

The first time I checked on insurance for my raptor was about a month b4 I got it My insurance agent told me 440 a year so I almost didn't get the quad checked around and every one was the same so b4 I went to pick it up I called my agent one more time and thought that it was a lot high he did it again and it was $173 so that is what I settled for good luck I'm 23 with a few speeding tickets 20mph over the limit so shop around it will get better...

I just got a quote for 242.00 a year with 250 deductible on comp/collision through atvline.com. I don't understand how they can insure a machine they have never seen, I mean if I put this on my credit card is there an appraiser in the area that needs to take pics or something first? Also through Markel is 250 the smallest deductible?

Thanks for your input,
-Jeff

Can't your auto insurance insure it? Maybe your parents carrier? Normally....thats the cheapest route.

it gave me a quote of 180 i think but when i called them they said 123 a year and that was only like 3 bucks more than my 300 ex so i would call them before purchasing online and ask them if you can get it cheaper they are the best ive dealt with on quads.they will do it all over the phone if you want. they do offer higher deductables but im not sure on lower the 250 was fine for me so i didn't ask.when i insured my 300 they made me take a picture an send it in but they didn,t ask for one with the raptor.they are good and quick i did some checking on them before purchasing insurance from them.give them a call and talk to someone and see what they can do for you. like i said there quote online was a little off from what they gave me over the phone.as far as not seeing your quad they no what the quads run and probably go off book value you can raise the amount of coverage on exceseries the minumum is 500.i have never had a problem with them and they cover my wife for free also

I had insurance on my 99 Polaris Scrambler 500 4X4 with State Farm for about $220 a year. They quoted me $262 on my 01 Raptor. I called Geico insurance and they said that they don't cover ATV's but their other branch did. I got both Quad's on one policy for $140 a year with $250 deductable. I think the Geico # is 800-841-3000 in Iowa aleast. The company that actually has the insurance is Universal? Underwriters I think. The hardest thing I ever got insurance on is my 96 CBR 900RR Sport bike. Most places won't touch them or want $1500 every 6 months. State Farm is about $320 a year on it. As others have said, "shop around for the best price"

Can you believe it, I cannot find a single insurance provider for the state of Massachusetts! The Irony in all of this is that I live 15 minutes south of the New Hampshire border, I ride in N.H., I bought my Raptor in N.H. (no sales tax and saved 5% of 7100, warranty included), The Raptor is registered in N.H!

Any suggestions?

-Jeff
