ATV insurance?

I have a 02 raptor insured through statefarm with 250 deductable for $215 a month. I would reccomend during it through someone local due to the fact that if something goes wrong you have someone to talk to face to face instead of dealing with someone on the phone. The agent also told me that your driving record doesnt matter on a atv unless you plate it. And if for some reason you did have a claim it wouildnt raise your premium.

I didn't bother calling Markel because on their ATVLine.com website they say they have no coverage in Mass. for $hits and giggles I got a quote as if I lived in N.H. which was no too bad like $242.
Barkbiterds, I hear ya about the drive maybe when we get really sick of where we ride and have some time to kill eh? I just met a kid last Sunday whose dad owns alot of the land we ride on and he has a front end loader...must convince...to...fix..trails and.....jumps!

hey papaluv-
I found the old paperwork and my old insurance was through Program Managers Inc, and the insurance company was Jefferson Insurance Company. I am planning on doing a search to see if i can find Jefferson, maybe they aren't affiliated with Program Managers anymore. Will let you know what I find. They were the only ones I could find with coverage for MA.
Oh, the coverage was $5000 physical damage, comp/collision, $250 deductible, liability of 25000per person, 50000 per incident and 25000 for property - total premium was $165.

I have Markel for my Prairie 650 and had to make a claim only a few days after I bought the damn thing. Hit a ditch at a pretty good speed and mangled it pretty good. I brought it in for an estimate, and Markel paid just about the whole thing (didn't cover fluids), minus the deductable. They did take off $500 for the deductable rather than the $250 like they were supposed to, but I wasn't about to argue once the check was in my hands for fear that they'd have said something like "OK, we'll give you your $250, but we're going to have to send out an adjuster to haggle down that esitmate as much as humanly possible until you wish you'd just taken what we gave you."

Does anyone in California have ATV insurance?
As Blue was saying quotes of $750+ per ATV are normal. I called a couple places and gave up. Can't see paying $1500/year to insure my wifes and mine when I can replace them for $3500-$6000.
Not sure why insurance is so expensive in CA.
If you live in CA and have insurance on your ATV let us know how much and from where. Thanks.
