I want to buy the ATV K&N power kit for my raptor. The jets are included in the kit. Does anyone know what sizes they are?
I have a full Yoshi system on the bike and obviously Yoshi have reccomended jet sizes. I want to know wether to buy the complete kit, or buy the parts individually.
(If the jets are the correct sizes, obviously I'll buy the kit)

The kit should have everything you need. Yoshi reccomends 150/155 mains, but those are mikuni jets which are different from dynojet jets. I run 146/148 main dynojet jets, and the dynojet needles and it runs perfect. So as you can see, yoshi's reccomendation doesnt really matter if you are using dynojet parts.
Just so you don't get confused, dynojet and k&n kits are the exact same thing.

 

So I take it then that the K&N kit comes with 146/148 Dynojet jets?
Do you have the same kit?
Do you have to put holes in the airbox lid?
Do you run without the lid?
Can you leave the lid on with no holes in it?

I have the full Yoshi system and I run the K&N Performance Kit. I cut the tabs in the air box snorkle like instructed by K&N. I have the 146 & 148 mains, the K&N needles to the clip position they suggested. The K&N filter with an Outerwares over it and the airbox lid in place with no holes and the bike runs excellent. The only thing I would recommend to do when installing the jets is to check your float heights in your carb bowls. Mine were way high and had been causing me problems since day one.

 

The kit comes with 140,142,144,146,148, and 150. I have the Full Yoshi, with the K&N jet kit and the K&N Proflow air filter. I run without the lid and I have the 150 and 155 dynojet installed. To get the 155 jet, you have to order it separately from Dynojet. I think its like $6. After the 150 size, the dynojets increase in increments of 5. Thats why there isn't a 152 or 154 dynojet. The jet kit comes with an assortment of jets. It will have what you need in it.

I didnt realize that the kit comes with an assortment of jets. I'll go ahead and buy it now.
I just need to deciede what to do with the airbox lid. I would prefer to keep it on just to prolong the life of the engine.
What sort of performance gains can I expect with the following a/b lid scenarios......holes/no holes/removed.

 

Why do you think keeping the aibox lid on prolongs the engine life? The same dirty air is getting to your filter with or without the lid. Just more of it without the lid. If the filter is doing its job, then there shouldn't be a problem. With the lid on most people leave the crankcase breather hooked up to the port on the snorkel. This has no filtration on it. I took the crankcase breather line and hooked up a small filter to it also.

Just curious about the lid prolonging engine life because I have heard this comment before and it baffled me. Thanks

 

You are right in saying its the same dirty air. The mud and the dirt will definately be stoped by the filter. My concern is water. I often end up doing some serious river crossings. So serious that I have to float the bike across. YES a raptor does float (Not like a boat..people)

 

That makes sense. Not much water these days in So. Cal.
