Trailtech light install question on a Raptor
#1
I just installed my new Trailtech lights on my Raptor but did not hook up the wires yet. They are mounted on the dashboard by the computer. My question is where is the best place to tap in for power? I want to hook the light's up to my highbeam switch so when I hit the high beams the stock lights will be off and the Trailtech's will be on. I know what the color code of the wire is for the highbeams, I just am not sure where I can tap into at. I can run a wire from each light and go up to the Trailtechs, but I would like to tap in closer to the handlebars. It is hard to see the wires come up because the radiator gets in the way. Where did everyone else tap into?

Here is what I ended up doing. I pull the front fenders off and disconnected the stock headlight wires. I was able to pull the yellow wire out of the connector out of each headlight, and wired it to the Trail techs. The 2nd wire on the Trailtechs I grounded to the frame. Now when I turn the highbeams on the stockers go off and the Trailtechs go on. When I switch to the low beam, the stockers go on and the Trailtechs go off. I'll tell you what, those Trailtech lights are BRIGHT!! I really like them.
