If you have a clymer manual, I think they detail how to check the injector pump for proper functioning in one of the sections.

What you should do is remove the oil injection and go to pre-mix. No more worries about the oil injection system. You can be certain that oil is getting to the motor with pre-mix.

I picked up all the parts needed for the conversion on my son's Blaster at my local Yamaha dealer for $18, and they were Yamaha brand parts, not some aftermarket brand.

Regards,

Rog

yea the clymer manual tells you a few ways to clean the whole pump and those parts out but i would pre mix to be on the safe side and i wouldnt see a reason to just pre mix and put the mix in your gas and oil tank. someone correct me if i am wrong im curious about it

Some people have said that you can just mix and forget, but I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to do it right.

It is real simple to remove the oil injector pump and the gear that drives it. The pump and gear can always be re-installed if you want to go back later.

The spot on the carb where the oil injection line feeds into the carb will have to be blocked off as well so that it doesn't run lean.

Rog

My blaster was a week old when I removed mine. I removed the gear/pump and blocked off the hose connecting to the back of the carb.
