yamahagye,

I had to laugh when I saw you ask about the Bomb! I wish I could have a good discussion on that point, but unfortunately I don't know the first thing about the rotax 650 motor! LOL.

Later,

A friend of mine who is a KTM ? Bombardier dealer has built a custom quad using a 520 exc dirt bike, used the entire dirt bike frame as the basis for the quad chassis, the stock KTM alloy swingarm (with honda style rear bearing carrier welded in) kept bending so a cro-moly rear arm was made for the rear, front end is pretty close to a 250R in layout using honda stubs etc. The KTM engines are not high revvers like the YZF 426 Yam dirtbikes, they produce aloty of low end and midrange "grunt" They also hold next to bugger all oil, try about 1.5 litres............... !!!

Looking forward to a comparision run with the KTM soon, biggest advantage is that the hybrid quad is very light, but at the cost of the complete 520 dirt bike plus all the fabrication etc, well hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
