Which one?

Ok, I might be able to get a new quad, and I've ridden a Raptor, and a Z400. I like the raptor a lot better. But should I wait for the new Yamaha, Bombardier, and Polaris sport quads? I like the raptor, it fits me well, but will I regret buying it after the new sport quads come out? If you could get a new sport quad now, what would you pick?

I think they are pretty much all great. It just depends on what your going to do with it and where you ride at. I bought the Z400 because of the price and I ride in the woods alot. But I'm starting to really like the Cannondales and I know they perform well. I'm thinking about selling the Z and buying a Cannibal with Blaze mapping and a HMF silencer for woods riding and playing. I don't race ATV's anymore just cars but I've been riding since the 70s.

I myself would recomend the raptor to anyone. Its an all around machine in my book. I just purchased a 2nd raptor myself and I'm fully aware of the fact that there is new quads coming out, if that tells you anything! I'm not dedicated to Yamaha only, I just think the raptor is a great machine. Good luck with your decision.

Actually, Adam, I would wait to see if you'll like the Predator. I have seen it in action and was VERY impressed with its motor AND features like: ALL new steering system, low and curved gas tank, REBUILDABLE shocks(front and rear), and lets not forget a 500cc ROTAX engine.
I think its worth waiting a couple of months, to make damn sure you DO want to buy that 03' Raptor.

Screw the Polaris... I am sorry but Polaris is just a company that takes others ideas, they cant think on there own. Also I have never had a Polaris that ran good all the time. Snowmobiles & wheelers.
Sleds blow up, and wheelers just wont run...
I would wait until the new bomb and yama come out, I have a ds and I am thinking about selling it this winter and getting one of those in spring. I love my bomb but I am not exactly the right size for it. (I am 16 and weigh 175) The ds is great to learn on (for jumping and mx) because of the suspension, if you screw up the shocks soak it all up... It will be hard to say good bye to the ds.

Well most people that own Z400s will tell you that they have plenty of bottom end. They run as good as a stock Raptor or Banshee until they reach the 4 gear and higher range where the extra 260cc's take over for the Raptor which is in my opinion way underpowered for it's size in stock form. And they run better than a stock 400EX. The carb throws a lot of people off on the actual power output. For jumping and open fields I would think your DS would be as good as it gets for that. I've heard from others that the Zs rear axle bends easy so it would have to be changed for much jumping. However if I rode open areas I would either buy a Raptor and do quite a few mods to it or a Cannondale. And I've never had any problems with the Polaris's I've owned but this is new territory for them. If your going to be dragracing at Aledo you had better buy the Raptor and get a 686 or 727 kit ordered.
