Has anyone heard of or seen a carb mounted filter that eliminates the air box totally? One of the guys I ride with has a DS and he got a carb mounted filter from K and N. I was just wondering if anybody has come up with that kind of mod. His DS flowed a lot better than with a modded air box.

No one makes a filter that can go on the two carbs of the Raptor because they are so close together. I don't run an air box but the filters are not clamped on the carbs.

I don't have any pictures of my set-up, but I need them, and I can't explain it very well but I'll give it a shot. I have two K&Ns clamped onto the Pro Desgin flange for my foam filter. I cut ALL of the air box off from around the flange so I could still use the pins for support without making something new. I used cotter pins to keep the plastic pins on the air box from sliding back through. I run 170 and 175 mains with 27.5 pilots and the needles are in the fourth clip from the top. I can't remember the screw settings off hand but I think that it is 2.75 and 3.0.

BTW thanks Blue Leader for the help many months ago. You are the one that gave me this idea after the filters I bought wouldn't fit on the carbs.

Blue Leader did you make that bracket to mount the filters? What part number are the filters?

I used a scrap piece of angle aluminum and zip tied the filters to it for support. I can't remember the part number. They are 2.5" ID x 5" diameter x 7" long. I will check and report back.
