First atv/ Blaster information

Just wanted to know is the blaster good for trail riding and also is going to be to loud with it 2-stroke engine to disturb my neigbors(They live a about a mile away for the woods that the trail riding would take place). Is the blaster fast compare to other atvs such the warrior, 300ex, mojave, trailblazer. And last the size? I'm 5'10 and 140lbs. THANKS!!!!

Chris0007,
Well, at 5' 10", which is about my height, I think you'd be a little cramped on a Blaster. The few times I've ridden on I felt as though I were wearing it, not riding it. Weight-wise it would be okay for now, tho.
As for loudness, the Blaster isn't overly loud with the stock exhaust system, but with a pipe it does bark , like any engine.
As for trail riding, that means diferent things to different people. To me it means tight (50") and technical trails with uphills , downhills, sandy washes, & fast open desert with more than a few rain ruts, etc. I would not want to ride ANY 2 stroke on a regular basis in those conditions due to the need for constant shifting in order to keep it on the pipe. You might want to look at the 3ooex if you budget allows, or even the 400ex if you're really loaded. I ride a Warrior set up for desert & trails & it doesn't get in anyone's way.
As for speed, it depends on what you mean..top end, off the line, in turns? I think the Blaster claims about 55 mph top end on smooth terrain. It is quick off the line & in turns compared to some 4 strokes due to it's light weight & typical 2 stroke response.
Finally this is all my opinion..there may be conflicting ones.

I'm 5'10'' 140lbs too. i just sold my blaster Monday. i rode dunes. it wasnt enough for me. i was able to out jump my buddies on their banshees, they coulda beat me if they hed the guts probably, one guy did though. but for the woods, i think it would be alright. a stock blaster is not loud. it would be fine to ride without bothering the mile away neighbors.

A Blaster has the potential to be a good trail machine. But I am partial to reverse after not having it for years and riding quads with it. Also, the brakes suck. They are not the hot set up. They are the economy set up.
The stock blaster is not really louder than any other quad. When the RPM's are high it is more of a high pitched sound. I don't think you will bother anyone though. You never know, the neigbors may be like me and enjoy the sound of a 2-stroke. I'd much rather listen to a "mad hornet sound" from a distance than the moaning and growning of a 4-stroke.
All these quads are close in speed on top end. I have heard claims ranging 45-65 MPH STOCK on the quads you listed. The Blaster comes in around 50 for top.
Post your price range, riding conditions, long term goals, and wants as far as performance and I'll try to steer you the best I can.
Above what anybody says...go rid'em and pick what makes you happy.
I have listed the mechanical down falls of the Blaster. But I didn't mention my size opinion. I'm 6'1''-190 and it feels like a friggin' POGO BALL under me. The only way to form your opinion is to ride it.

I bought a Blaster I am 6'0 205, it is a good Quad, I also own a Honda Fourtrax 300, I was surprised how peppy the Blaster and how it pulls. I enjoy the machine it is a good Quad and economical and very Fast for the Price. In a Drag Race Stock
Warrior 56
Blaster 54
Honda 300 EX 52
Mojave 52
Not a bad 2 stroke stock, I think it is a good machine, I like it as well as my Fourtrax 300

i love my blaster, but i have put a lot of money to get it where it is, i was at the dunes 2 weeks ago and my friends yz 250 fried his clutch and i had to tow him back and it did better than i had expected, if you do get one take athe extra $300 and get the expansion chamber and silencer, other wise your nieghbors will think you are mowing your lawn, as for size i am 5'9" 175 and feel very comfortable

If you are just going to ride in the woods a four stroke is best. My favorite small displacement four stroke is the Suzuki Quadsport 230. I have one that is blown up, but when it was running it would beat Blasters, Warriors, 300EX's, and Mojave's in everything except last gear pegged out then the extra displacement on the others would get me. It is lighter than a blaster, and I got mine for $800. Another good little quad if you are on a budget is a 250X. But that is just my opinion.

theres no way a 230 quadsport can beat warriors, blasters or even 300exs. Its also quite a bit heavier than the blaster. Its a four stroke so the engine weighs alot more.
Oh and i have a blaster and for really tight woods and trails you can't beat it. but in the sloppy conditions a 4 stroke like the 300ex is better. If you got the dough i'd get a 400ex.
