It's a sad day when you realize you suck and not your quad......

A local guy that I know just got his brand new big bore trinity banshee back. The guy used to race flat track on a mostly stock banshee. He was always complaining about not being able to keep up with this one raptor at the local tracks.
This guy has trinity build him a brand new big bore banshee to the tune $25,000. The race was off 3 nights later. To make a long story short, the raptor with just a cam and high compression piston for engine mods beat him by 3 bike lengths. Now the guy is not rich, and he just got beat by a 7,000 quad. It was the first time i've seen a grown man cry. Moral of the story is,"Money does not make one-self faster"

HEY !! I resemble that remark ! Yep, I have always thought good hardware could make up for my deficiencies. And it does, to some extent. A good ride is a good ride is a good ride. Then somebody with real talent comes along on a POS and blows me away. The old, "If I only had a (fill in blank), I could be a real contender!" is a dangerous and expensive credo.
.....I realized early that I was not a talented rider, just adequate. I won a few trophies in the novice class, and that was it. No promising career ahead, no endorsements, no stardom. But I was a good wrench, and got to hang out with the stars 'cause I fixed their bikes and made them go fast and win. So I won vicariously. My bikes won, even though I wasn't riding them. I still love to ride, and wished I could ride better, but now I'm a fat old fart and that is really out of the question. And I do love good hardware. It makes me go as fast as I can go, which is fast enough for me.
