I have checked with Yamaha on several different occasions and every time i did, one part or more would be on back order. Check a week later..and those would be available, but two more would be added to the back order list!!
I called a Yamaha parts tech about this situation about 6 weeks ago and he said that Yamaha didn't anticipate such demand for the items and being that these items do not fall within Yamaha's criteria of mass distribution, that it would likely remain a "come and go" until demand startys to decrease.
From time to time, all of these parts are available, but only till inventory is depleted again. Yamaha only has 4 warehouses in the U.S. that distribute parts. That's it. It's not like most people visualize.
I would recommend that you give the list to your local Yamaha dealer and have him check with Yamaha regarding the availability. It doesn't take but about 5 min. for him to run the numbers into Yamaha's computer.

Nothing toward you KNOWSALOT, just commenting on your response and this topic. So, please, do not be offended with what I have to say.
Why hasn't Yamaha "ANTICIPATED" this demand for an upgraded tranny?
WTF, they knew 8 months after they realesed the 01 Rap, it's tranny was a poor design!
Now, almost 2 years later and they still aren't "anticipating" the demand?
What did they think all of these 01 Rap owners were going to do with thier "01 failed tranny Raps"? Throw them in the garbage? Scrap'em?
Again, WTF? Yamaha needs to get thier heads out of thier A$$ and start standing behind the product they mfg. If not, why on earth would anybody in thier right mind purchase thier product again?
And think about this, the tranny is just a portion of the Rap problems. The starter is looking to be another real bad issue too! There are more parts to add to the poor design list, but I won't get into that. I will stay with the topic at hand, the tranny.
Yamaha is well aware of the probelms at hand, THIS IS A FACT! On this forum alone, there have been dozens of tranny failures. These several dozens are only a fraction of failed Tranny's out there. It's not a secret, even the dealers are saying, "hey, I really don't want to take that 01 in on trade-in". Why would they? They are in business to make money and have repeat customers (well most of them anyway). The ones that are giving any kind of decent trade-in know that within a 6 month window or so, you will be calling them to buy an 02 tranny. Which this dealer will make a GOOD BUCK off of you for the Labor mostly, but some on the parts as well. So for dealers to take aan 01 in on trade, sell it to another guy and have him be pissed because the trans failed and Yamaha won't stand behind it, makes the dealers look equally as bad.
It's obvious Yamaha is going to stand thier ground and not do the correct thing as they have been doing for 2 years. They know they have you by the ***** and unless your going to spend the big bucks and look at Fortin, your F'd!
