Has anyone really witnessed this? Just wondering how close a piped Z comes to a piped Rap!

Raptor drills it.

Z breathes well stock.Raptor breathes through a straw.
When piped, the 660 flies,Z little faster than stock.

I rode a piped Z. I was impressed.....Extremely quick on the track. The only problem was I kept hitting the limiter far too quickly. It needs a racing CDi. I think it is going to be extremely competative on the track.
As far as competing with my piped raptor goes in a drag....I dumped it after 4th gear.

I raced a piped Raptor(White Bros, not sure if there were any other mods) at Silver Lake Sand dunes about 2 weeks ago. I have a stock Z as you can see. My K&N was not even in there yet. We raced 3 times, ~150-200 yards. Each time he beat me, but only by about ~1 quad length. The last time we raced, he only beat me by about 1/2 quad length. Needless to say that he was not too happy with the outcome.

From the dyno charts I've seen, it should be no contest.

Piped Raptor: 45-50 horsepower.

Piped Z400: 32-34 horsepower.

Well, I raced a piped Z400 with my Piped DS650. The Z400 had a yoshimura pipe, and I beat him every time. I don't know by how much, because I tend to look forward when I'm drag racing. but I never even saw him. It did look like it was doing pretty good on the track, though.

Your kidding me right?? Would a hopped up civic beat an equally hopped up mustang. 400cc Vs 660cc give me a break. I have a 400ex and know that I'd get spanked by everything 350 and up on the new machines. Cubic inches actually can be an easy way to tell what the car is capable of. My 66 shelby gt350 with a 289Cid will get spanked by a 67 gt350 with a larger Cid. Plain and simple

Really, Then where does a Turbocharged 231 cubic inch V6 Buick fall into all of this at. It will easily outrun V8s twice it size just like the stock Cannondale will easily smoke a stock Raptor.

I think shelbygt350 was referring more to naturally aspirated engines. Boosted engines, either mechanically or chemically, can not be compared to natural aspiration. Pull the turbo off the Buick and see how it runs. It would be fair game for most Civics.
