For the mud, and speed, the best quad for both is definately the Scrambler 400 4x4. I don't think they make those anymore, though. You can buy a race package from HPD for $1300 and it will run with piped Raptors/Bombs/shees. I had an old Scrambler 400 2x4, and it was actually a pretty good all around quad. I could ride wheelies on it 5x better than on my DS650. The dang swingarm kept comming loose, but that was the only real problem. It does eat a lot of gas, though. I think it would be a good choice. But just be reminded, it is a Polaris.

I own a Raptor, Warrior and Scrambler 400 4x4. When I ride in very muddy conditions, I ride the Scrambler. It has pretty good power (more than the 500 4-stroke) and you can't beat the 4x4 traction nor the much better ground clearance for getting thru rutted trails. 2 wheel drive will get you stuck and most sports quads have very low clearance at the rear axle.
If you're looking primarily at mud, I'd narrow your list down to the Wolverine, Scramblr 500 and 400 4x4. But also note that the 4x4 action makes these quads more nose heavy, so they won't be the best jumpers.
