Hesitation just off idle? Pilot air screw or pilot jet?
#1
I have noticed that if I have the quad in neutral or if the clutch is in and I blip the trottle in bogs and almost die's. Once the rpm's are up a little there is no problem, so should I start with the pilot air screw or change the pilot jet?

You don't say which of your quads you're referring to, so I'll assume it is the Warrior. The stumble off idle in a condition on every Warrior I've ever seen, including mine. If the pilot screw is set to 1 1/2 to 2 turns out that's all that adjustment will do. Some have had success with a larger pilot jet..some have not and just learned to live with the problem.

I just fixed what sounds like the same problem you're having on my 2 stroke Sporstsman 400. It would idle rough and any amount of throttle would kill it. I removed the fuel bowl and took out the pilot jet (the one offset from the main). Used carb cleaner to spray throught the jet and carb passages. Put it back together and it runs like a champ. Now I'm ready to sell and buy a Grizzly 660. I haven't had many problems with my Sportsman but I've heard to many horror stories about Polaris.
