Warrior in high altitudes
#1
I like to ride my warrior in the rocky mountains, sometimes the trails that I ride take me to high altitudes. I find that when I am climbing hills in higher altitudes I lose power, and often barely have enough momentum to get me to the top, the motor does not want to rev. What adjustments do I need to make to set my machine up for high altitude riding. A friend told I had to re-jet my carb. Is this what my problem and how easy of a job is that to do. I would go and say that thats what you need to do, but I'm not real sure, I dont ride in the mountains. I changed the jetting on my wolverine and it was easy. Just follow the directions with the kit and you'll be alright.

You didn't say what you may have done insofar as rejetting is concerned for your usual riding elev.,or what airflow modifications you may have done, so it is difficult to offer any advice except to say than any increased elev over 1200' from where you are now would require leaner main jetting. Also the elev at which you ride in the mountains is a factor in re-jetting also...the higher the leaner. Rejetting the Warrior is not a big deal and can be done without removing any plastic.
First, you need to pull the carb bowl to get to the main jet. Remove the main jet to see what size it is in order to buy a couple of leaner ones. You probable should also check the jet needle position to be sure it is in the 3rd position unless you bought the quad new, in which case it is no doubt in the 3rd position.
