I bought one whit my Grizzly 2 weeks ago. I just like the peace of mind knowing I don't have to pay for anything that goes out or breaks. I actually got what my dealer calls the platinum warenty, It includes everything except brake pads. They even change the oil for me.
I negotiated it along with a warn winch into my deal so it really didn't cost me any money. This is one area a dealer can really negotiate. However, they will drag their feet all the way.
Mine is a 3yr warrenty and orginally sold for $799
Good Luck and have fun

Dear Forum
I have a 99 Wolverine and I bought the extended Warranty. I have mixed feelings on the warranty I got a slight bend in the rear axle a bought 3 or 4 months after I bought it. My dealer where I purchased the 4-wheeler from told me over the phone that they could do nothing about it and if it was just slightly bent just keep ridding till it got worse and buy a new one. Well I found this great place called atvconnection forum and I found that a lot of people with Wolverines have had the same problem I had and got the axle replaced under warranty some as many as 5 times. So I called customer service and they told me to take it to the dealer and have it checked. I took it to a dealer that was a little close to me and had them look at it. They said Yamaha would not cover it they would cover it if it were only 3 or 4 months old but by this time it was 8 months old. I called the service department for Yamaha and told them that I did call and ask my dealer if there was anything they could do when I 1st found the problem when my 4-wheeler was about 3 or 4 months old. I had no documentation always, I mean always get written documentation. After about 4 months of calling and calling they finally sent me an axle not as warranty but as a good will gesture. I would have to pay the dealer for the labor to get it installed. I will install the axle myself.
Bottom line is that unless you have a great dealer that will fight for you sometimes the warranty can be a lot of headaches. I also thought it was a great peace of mind but there are some idiots out there that think if you abuse your 4-wheeler you can just turn it in under warranty. I love my Yamaha Wolverine 4-wheeler and would not trade it for the word, but Yamaha thinks that everyone abuses there 4-wheeler. I don’t abuse my machine and I feel that sometimes I have to pay for the idiots that do and try to turn it in under warranty. I feel that my ATV cost a little too much to just abuse. Do not get me wrong I will ride my Wolverine fast but I don’t do things to my machine that you would consider as abuse. I keep a regular maintenance schedule because Yamaha will look at that when it comes to them having to pay for something that breaks.
Sorry just a little ventilation of some of the frustrations I have had. But on the same hand if I ever have a bearing lock up in the motor Yamaha said they would cover it. Proved it is not do from abuse like no oil or hydro-locked.
