Go call Dail a jet tomorrow and let them know what went wrong and they will help you on that issue you are having.... That what I would do!!

Sounds like you are running to rich on the dial-a-jet setting. Start in the middle position, take it for a run, and see if it's still cutting out. One way to check and see if it's a problem with it running to lean is to leave the choke on and see if the problem goes away. What airbox mods do you have? What is your jetting? With your mods, you can go with the stock jetting, drill a couple of 1 3/4" holes in the lid, and remove the snorkel. With stock jetting you would be running fine at +1 from the center position. At 1500 feet, I am running the full yosh exhaust, have the pro design pro flow kit with k&n, (2) 1 3/4" holes in the lid, and no snorkel. I run plus one from the center position. Anyway, guess the biggest question is what mains are you running right now.

Start going one notch leaner at a time. Keep doing that until you have no more lag in the power band. If you don't want to cut holes in your lid, you should at least remove the flaps on the inside of your snorkel. You need to get that thing leaned out a bit for the system to work right. Also, once you do lean out your system, you will probably find the power band is great at a certain position on the dial, but you will most likely hear it pop when you let off the gas and de-excellerate, if so you will need to adjust the air mixture screw on the bottom of both carbs. Run them all the way in, then come 3 turns out. If the popping continues, adjust the screws out 1/4 at a time until it goes away.

Also, someone just recently suggested a tool to me from Motion Pro for adjusting the Air Mixture screw. Without this tool, you have to take the carbs off, flip them upside down, make your adjustment, put it back together, blah blah blah.....It is a crappy process. Anyway, motionpro has a great tool for $29.40. If you call them today, you will have it tomorrow (I see you're from Manteca. They are somewhere close to San Francisco). Their part number is 08-0119, part description is Pilot screw adjustment tool. Total cost including shipping was $37.53. Their number is 650-594-9600.

Good luck, hope you get it all dialed in. Let me know how it goes.

The snorkle is the large rubber piece hoseclamped to the airbox lid. Inside the "snorkle" you will find two rubber flaps protruding halfway into your airstream, either cut these flaps out or remove the snorkle all together.

Originally I ran with the flaps cut out of the snorkel, but now I'm running no snorkel, and (2) 1 3/4" holes in the lid. I have the full yosh comp pipe. At 1500 feet I am +1 from the center position on the dial a jet. It runs really good. A lot of bottom and mid range power. Throttle response is great, no lag anywhere in the powerband now. She really pulls good.

Man, it's 3am, I gotta get to bed. I can't keep the screen in focus anymore. Let me know how it goes for you.
