hello, i have noticed a small leak of gear oil coming from the seal around the shaft on the front sprocket on my 99 banshee. I was wandering if anyone else has had this problem, and if so, how hard is it to replace this seal? Thanks.

If the problem you are talking about is 'Oil coming out around the shift shaft' then you do not have to touch the case.... Take off the chain and sprocket so you can see it good...drain your oil....get a pair of needle-nose pliers and pull out the old seal ( mine popped right out). clean all around the opening and put in the new seal....

It really was simple...took no time at all. and it does not leak anymore.

If the shaft is bent...then you have another problem...and you will most likely end up inside the case. If the shaft is not bent...then go with it.
