Big Bear 4x4 questions
#1
new to the forums, looking to buy a 4wheeler 4x4 and its down between the bigbear 4x4 and the eiger 4x4 auto or manual, i have read about the eiger issue with engine and that kinda worries me about it ..but the one drawback i have about the big bear is the lack of footboard forward the peg..i understand that is required to shift gears but the eiger manual has a cool dip in it so that your foot can get under the shifter and just wondered if anyone ever had a "accident" riding a manual and hit the wrong gear of worse yet went to shift and slipped, any info would be greatly apperciated

Nathan, I really dont see it as that big of a deal. The Big Bear is a great bargin at around $4700 base price. 400 CCs and you can take it in and out of 4 Wheel Drive. Great clearance too! Plus Yamaha is doing the $69 winch special right now.
Either Way good luck and have fun!

Hey I got a 2003 Big bear 4x4 and I just hit 600 miles today ajnd havent had one problem with it at all. I too wanted full floor boards but I dont really mind the half ones I never feel under protected..the first day riding it I foudn my self picking my legs up because I wasn't sure but now I ride hard and my feet are always on the pegs. I suggest saving for some tires or else you will be getting stuck...it finally rained here for about a day and I got stuck in this one mud hole bad oh yeah the big bear is one slow machine but it will tow anything you hook up to it i topped mine out at about 48 on hard dirt road

mine is great, neighbors have praire660, and the vinson500, where they go i go only thing bad is top end is around 50, and i really dont care for the stoch maxis on my bb400, going to itp 589's soon. other than that the bb400 is a good deal, especially if you can get one for 4700$ thats almost a thousand less than what i pad with tax and title! wish i lived in La.
