hot cams
#1
I'm presently running a web 736/737 cam in a 686 trinity raptor. Has anyone compared the stage 2 cam from hot cams. Is ther any power diferences.
I'm still running stock carbs and they don't seam to like my present cam.

layjzay- what kind of problems are you having?? I installed that cam in my last trinity686. I really liked that cam. I put the stage 2 in the new motor. The stage 2 revs out about a 1000 to 1250 better than the 736/737. To me those are the best cams available. The compound does not like them but..... Give me some more info??

With the 736/737 I fine the motor doesn't rev up quick in the last few thousand rpm's of the power band. I'm not sure if it is the carbs not getting enough vacuum to keep the slides open with the duration of the cam or the cam itself.

You got me on that. It must be a carb problem cause that is webs high end cam. Sorry i can not help. Did you ask for that cam from trinity or did you change out the 696/697 and why?? What have you done to the airbox? What pilots and jets are you running?? WE will get to the bottom of this.

I am not running an air box. I still have the two air ducts connected to a dual inlet K&N. THe mains are 185-195 pilots 27.5 and needles are on the 3rd clip. I requested that cam trying to get more out of it with the larger valve and proflow port work.

I think your problem is in lack of air box. Why a big jump in jet size from one side to the other. I had that issue for a while i solved it with 27 pilots and drilling more 2 in holes in the air box. I think you just need more dial in time on the carbs.
