I have know doubt to what the blaster does stock and can do modified. I've built and maintained many blasters for racing and race against them nearly every week on the mx track.

The blaster is a bit small in physical size for me as I'm on the tall side. But the lakota is small to but for some reason I can stretch out on it.

I dragged a stock blaster when my quad was stock and he did beat me, not by to much. I also gave away about 120 pounds to the younger rider as well. I don't think the 300ex would fair better than I did that day as the lakota takes it out of the hole easily but once the blasters rev cought up to it he pulled me pretty easily. He also had about 3 or so mph on top end over me.

I mx race in a open class and it seems me, the blasters, 300ex's and mojave's all have the same type game plan. Try to beat one another off the start and zone in on the big bores.

The blasters jump and seem to go better on the straight aways were the lakota 300ex and mojave have a big advantage in the slower more technical sections.

I'm older so I seem to be able to get out pretty far on them on the first couple laps but after that the larger 4 stroke I ride realy wares me down. So bluntly the best I can do is hold poeple off after the first couple laps.

So the best I can tell you in seeing all these 4 stroke and blasters run against each other for this hole intire season, it all depends on who's riding them. They are all very close and seem to come down to who gets the start. It is no easier for one of the machines to over take the other. But if you know where one is better than the other on the track you have to realy set one up for those spots that you have the advantage.

Not trying to flame any one just trying to relay what I've seen in the season that I'm running now.

For the blasters that we went big bore with all the goodies with them, they are sick fast and don't even belong in the discussion of this thread.

The blaster will win stock and the more you modify them both the more the blaster will win ,300exs are good but i just like the power ot feels slow revving and like a utility just doesnt got enuff snapp but they do have kicken suspension!

No thats what i'm talking about. Like more with a 400 not with a 300. I'd really be interested how that 40hp 240Ct Kit works that would go if its as good as they claim. I'd imagine it would rattle the heck out of you tho with all that power in a Blaster Frame.

I don't know the actual HP numbers of the 240 or 250 kits, But I've done more than a few. They realy run as strong as you would think. Way more power than the chassis can stand. It has to be wider and longer and still then it's pretty wild to hold on to.

I seen lately that you can buy the 240 kit for a good bit cheaper than the $500 that I was paying for them. But the reed cage and carb need to be changed with the kit. Well doesn't have to be but if you do the power goes up a good bit.

Just all the suggested goodies with a stock bore make them run pretty darn fast. Just stop by guidos site or some one like that and for $350 for the toomey kit and probably another $150 in reeds and reed cage you will have more than you want.

Even with stock displacment ive ridden one that wheelied in 3rd gear on throttle alone with my 240 or so lbs on it. Pipes, ported, a little lean. I keep trying to make him rejet the darn thing before it blows up.

Dude I Weigh 240 and i rode my blaster with just a pipe and silencer alone against a 300ex and he had about 150 pounds on me and he can ride good. but i blew his *** away i mean once it hooked up i was gone. a 300 cant beat a blaster thats bull i mean he must not have been able to shift.
