Blaster vs. 300EX in a Drag
#1
K in another thread sumone said that with his stock 300EX he beat a piped Blaster 3out of 3times. Now i have a hard time believing that cause i would think that a Stock Blaster would beat a 300EX. And with Toomey Pipes thats 26hp so thats more in a league with the 400EX at about 27, 28 not a 300EX cause pipes on the ex's only adds 2-3 hp in the top and maby 3-4 in the mid. And when you don't even have to change the jetting you know the pipe makes little difference on the 400EX and 300EX except maby the powercurve. Also the Blaster is 50pounds lighter I don't know maby i'm wrong but tell me what you think.

Stock for stock, the Blaster will win (I owned a Blaster for many years). The biggest difference between the two isn't power, as much as suspension. The 300 has real (all be it low end) sport quad suspension, and the Blaster has, well.... the suspension you expect on a $3,000 bike (a good bit of the Blasters suspension is in the balooney stock tires). Speed is academic if you don't have the suspension to tame it!!!

to get 26 hp out of a blaster will take more than a toomey kit.
ATV-Action had a sport quad buyers guide out last december. They dynoed almost all quads, blaster 13.9 hp and the 300 ex 13.7hp.
Another magazine had a shoot out between the blaster, mojave, 300ex, lakota, and trailblazer. They had lap times, drag times and top speed. All but the trail blazer was very close except in mx lap times where the blaster had a good edge over the lakota wich was second. The blaster also won the drag race segment to.
When I get home I'll look up the times. Well in the kawi room I poasted it last january, just search for it

gaff i've all so herd them say that they have 17 or so. I'm guessing that its around 13from the rear tires and 17hp from the crank so 26from the crank is what i'm guessing. But it still runs pretty good. My friend rode a stock banshee except for a boost bottle in the dunes. On the wet sand we draged and it was pretty close except for the Banshee had a higher top end speed. I even jumped ahead of him for a little while on one of them. however the main reason for the Banshee not doin as good was the stock tires they have pretty bad hookup. And in the dunes if it was the right type of hill mine would outclime his banshee. But again it was cause he had no traction so it wheels would spin like crazy but not work as well as mine. But i know like no banshee has stock tires so that's not much of a comparison. I would really like to drag a 300 and a 400EX do see the outcome. And ride red maby u beat the one blaster but maby he was just a bad rider try draggin another blaster see what happens.
