I would rent a uhaul big enough to store your quads and with some roomk to put down some sleeping bags to bunk in on the drive out and and back, take a $70 porta toilet and you got yourselves a redneck RV! Most truck stops offer showers for a few dollars as does the glamis store.

i got the trailer. 5x10. i can get a chevy truck (regular cab) to pull it. but that would add the owner of the truck going and there would be no way to ride 1700 miles in the bed of a truck because we ain't all fittin' up front. lol. we need a 4 door truck. dually maybe. we could possibly get 3 quads on the trailer, (sideways). that would come in under the 2000lb. limit.
WWWAAAAIIITTT a minute. i just thought of something. my girlfriends uncle owns a couple car lots. mostly trucks at one of them. i borrowed one to go get my raptor when i bought it down in jackson. maybe he would let us rent one??? how does that sound? i say rent because i don't believe he would let us put 4k on a truck he's trying to sell, for free. let me know if you guys are willing and i'll ask. can't believe i forgot that.

<< 1200 for a decent one? Thats a really good price if it runs well, plus a school bus would just plain be a lot of fun. >>

First off thank you for all the replies.

RRR thats sounds like a good idea, renting or not. I might have a deal going with a guy to let me borrow his, but I doubt it. If you can borrow the guy you were talking about I have a trailor to haul four, no problem. I can take my truck for extra room for us to ride.

The u-haul/box van won't work. I am a fairly honest person so disconnecting the cable is against my better judgment. Renting it either way would just be to expensive.

For the school bus, it might not be a bad idea for a 120 mile trip around the house, but there is NO WAY I would take one 1700. We acctualy stripped out the inside of one a year ago and petitioned it off, made beds, the whole nine yards.

4.3 in a S-10 would haul it motor wise. There are two problems with this idea, 1 not enough room, and 2 the suspension won't hold it very well.

Again thanks for all the ideas.

All of the buses I have ever seen for a low price have been a little wore out. You can't exactly go by milage either, just think of all the stopping and starting they do in a day. Also consider how well it was serviced, who knows. I have done my fair share of searching as well. You might have stumbled onto one that is but none around here are. Is the one you found desil, propane, or gas? The one we converted was a 454, and was actualy a church bus. I knew the guy at the church who worked on it so I kind of knew a little about its past. It turned out to be pretty good. We only paid $350 for it and it came with a generator.

Why not put a hitch on the trans am???? LoL j/k but the s-10 suspension would be fine towing a trailer with a swaybar set on it why not try that??

The hitch mount hauler won't work for two reasons, 1 they don't make them big enough for 3 quads, 2 the suspension on my truck is maxxed out with just one in the back, I couldn't imagine 1,200 pounds hanging a foot off the rear bumper.

I checked on the rental car today. The cheapest I fond here was going to be about $680, thats a little more than I thought. I'll keep checking I'veot a couple more to call.

RRR any news from your friend?
