Will a thumb throttle and cable from a 2000 Warrior fit on an '87 Warrior?? I want to change from a twist, back to a thumb. Didn't Yamaha keep changing the cable design? Any advice would be appreciated.

I am not sure about the 2000 but I know the 91 warrior has the split cable set up and wont work. I went back to the thumb throttle also cause its better for atv's and I got mine at "EAST COAST ATV", (1-215-529-4632)used for 45 dollars. It was in very good condition but I did have to buy a cable for it. The cable is nothing special but it comes with Yamaha's special pricing ......$20. I think a new thumb throttle set up is around $90. Hope it helps GJ

You might contact a Yamaha dealer & check the part #'s to see if trey're the same. I have a brand new thumber off my 97. I had it switched to a twister before I took delivery of my ride. I could be persuaded to sell it if you need one.

I use a Warrior thumb throttle on my Banshee because I run a single carb set up. All that really matters is the cable ends. I've had Terry Cable make a special cable for my Blaster and you can buy kits to make your own.
