What main jets do you have in now? I have 290's in mine and its perfect.
I just was at silver lake 3 weeks ago and ran it hard all day.

I just pulled the plugs out while it was sitting in the garage and they are no where near light colored.

How big of a difference did your timing key make?

your pipes are turning color due to the heat clean them thats all they need.
what jen was saying is you dont just pull a plug and look at you you have to do a pulg chop. get you bike top end and hit the kill while your there then check your pulg.

Did you do a wide open plug check? you know floor in with he throttle wide open shut it off and check the plug it should be a brown color!
The timing key give me alot of low end power well worth $25.00.

I just got back from silver lake and that quad is awesome. It is so much more fun to ride than the 400ex I have in the sand anyway. I like the 400ex for riding a long distance wheelie better but I still like the banshee better. She said it scares her because you come up over a hill and grab a handfull and the front wheels come up. I like and she don't! Anyway my pipes are still turning blue slowly toward the back but it ran great.
