hey, i was asking about the tires 589's (ITP) and i am thinking about putting them on my Grizzly. But I was wondering is the 26's just as good as the 27"s. Right now i am convinced to get the 26"s i know the tire is a bad motha. I would just like to know if someone has a 26" and would give me some background on how the tires do on your atv, and should i go to a 27" 589 or 26" just as good. And i hope that the 26 gives a little more ground clearance too. I hope someone can help, especially with a grizz thanks...

i have the grizz 660 and have 27inch 589's on c-series rims. The tires are awesome. It seems like they never run out of traction. They added about an inch and a half of ground clearance all around. Not much power loss either. Good luck

Let me tell you these tires are the best. i have over 1100 miles on these bad ****** and there is hardly any wear at all. i ride my quad to work eveyday down the road so 3/4 of the miles on them is pavement riding. The ride is a little bumpy on hard packed surfaces until about 7mph. i lost about 4mph of my top speed, and can't notice the difrence in low end torque. i never needed any more traction, and they are great for bitting when cornering at high speeds.(thank God) the 26" tires a a little lighter and still add to the ground clearence. i got the 26" becasue of the cost. i saved $100 by getting a set at 26" instead of 27".

thanks to you both, for your replys, one more question though you may have answered it does that tire really show it stuff in the mud. I would appreciate it if you told me, and is a type of tire that you would most of the time creep throught the mud or send rooster tails 20 feet in the air and does it have good self cleaning, especially with the 26"s cause i believe i will get them thanks to you both hope to hear from you soon

I had 27" 589mts on my Grizz for about 1000 miles, then I switched to 25" 589mts. The added weight of the 27" tire just causes too much wear-n-tear for the added 1" of ground clearance. When it all comes down to it....a 25" tire will get you to the same spot as a 27" tire....probably easier too since you won't have any powerloss from the added weight.

I would recommend sticking with 25" tires, and getting the 589mts. They are a great all around tire, and will get you thru anything you throw at them.

yes, it does show it's stuff in the mud. but not only in the mud. I go riding in PA and there are a lot of switchbacks and tight turns that you don't know exist for the first half a dozen times you go there. so naturally i went a little too fast on a straight away and saw a huge turn coming up quick. ifit wasn't for these tires i would have gone over the cliff. in short, they bite great on hard packed dirt to. they are self cleaning and do send the rocks, dirt and mud a pretty good distance. at least that's what everyone behind me says. p.s. for those of you who get ATV Magazine, the place in pa i was describing is the Susquehannock trail system that the article is about in the magazine. i have been going there for 2 years, and still love it. i highly suggest it. this coming weekend is the last weekend for atv riding untill next memorial day.
