after taking my raptor out for the FIRST time with...I know stupid...with SNEAKERS on to test it out (we have a track at work and I was ONLY gonna go ONCe around) I slid off the peg on the left and broke my ankle. not a bad break but I knew it was broken ( I broke the other one by rolling it) my leg was black and bluie for a day and I got it xrayed and sure enough it was broken. that night I Called up parts unlimited and next dayed a set of nerfs in and bought a pair of NEW tech 8 boots. I had never had a pair of real boots but now I did.

I will NEVEr again ride without nerfs or boots. I need my legs to work

Haven't crashed off a jump yet, but last weekend I flipped twice due to big ruts in the trails. Both times going between 20-30 mph. Also both times I ran away from the quad without falling down. I would have to agree with the boots ideas. I praise my Tech 6's. I think that I would have broken something if I wore sneakers. Hope you are feeling better!

I wiped out the first time loading my Raptor in my truck at the dealer lol. Their ramp had a bar missing and my tire just grabbed it and chucked the ramp out. I ended up flat on my back with a bruise on my a$$, no damage to the quad at least lol

boots are worth it...work boots..riding boots...anything with a stiff high top part.

I even ride with a chest protector now all the time...just getting safer in my old age (23 heehee)

Riding boots are a must. I stuck a dirt bike peg through my foot once just playing in the back yard, I was not going to need the boots.
Also I put the DG propegs on my EX my foot slipped of the reg pegs (I took of the reak gard b/c I have size 14 feet and ride on the ***** of my feet) landing of a 60' double and I ran over my foot. The bike rolled on me and fu@ked it up but my feet are fine. I have not slipped off since adding the nerfs w/ propegs.

Believe me if you broke your pelvis you would know it. I bruised mine and the doctor told me it hurt worse then actually breaking it. You can bear almost no weight on it or even move your leg. It took over a week for the bruise to start to show, it ended up being all black and blue and huge. Looked pretty sick, but I loved showin it off .

Buy the boots and the nerfs.

Exactly what happened to me. Came off a jump a little sideways, landed, foot slipped off, drove over my foot and knee.

Tech 7 boots and nerfs were ordered the next day. Those boots have saved my ankles numerous times. The other major advantage of riding boots over other 'workboots', is the steel shank which runs down the center of your foot. This really helps with 'footpeg' cramps. Well worth the extra cash..... Get them. Last a very long time......
