been lurking this forum for a while now and am really impressed with the people and knowledge.. as you may have read I have a 03 banshee.. right now its fmf piped and i just did the pro-flo K&N air box mod..
what would you guys recommend next?
im seriously considering the timing advance thing.. i dont know much about it but from what I gathered, its a good mod, what do you guys think? are there any downsides? how much power increase might I expect, some people have told me its as good as pipes. also who all makes it? the only one Ive seen is the billet aluminum pro-series one..
for now I want to stay away from internal motor stuff, just the basics for now.. (ive only taken the bike out twice)... maybe next season ill be ready for engine mods....
any advice, comments, suggestions, flames?

I have the +4 key... I installed it the same time as some other mods so I can't say how much it helped. According to dyno runs it CLAIMS to give 2.5 HP or so; I would go for it.
Some things to do without digging into the engine:
Use silicone on that ProDesign flange to make sure nothing leaks in between the flange and your airbox.
Get a Pro Design megaflow water pump impeller - this does help reduce temps - an absolute must.
You can either mill your head a little (.030 or so) or get a coolhead or similar with 21cc domes.
You can "port" your reed cages - basically clean the rough edges. I guess it helps a LITTLE and it is free.
Next steps involving opening up your motor:
Porting or Vitos superstock pistons. Personally, I am thinking I will get the Vitos pistons this year and clean up the casting flaws on my cylinders and see how that goes. That way I get SOME porting advantages (7 or 8 HP claims for the pistons) and some advantage from cleaning up the cylinders without having to port them.
OH, get rid of that TORS crap too.
DON'T get a boost bottle.
Reeds are iffy - I can't tell a difference between my Boyeseens and stock reeds. People say the V-Force help but for $200 they better do something.
