Why not put a sand front and rear tire on a street bike and have at it? Now it couldnt be a very heavy one, something like a ninja 250r, or a Dual purpose bike. Wouldnt it be fun? lol. Problem is you could win on a 180, it all has to do with who has the most huevos. It would be a while, but if i bought some sand tires would anyone else play along? I may not put up to much of a fight though, 290lb bike with 34 hp, but im workin on that. Just dont wanna cut off my uni stand for the after market pipes.

People usually dont do drags like this for a new reasons. One is the handling characteristics of a street bike. They are meant to have grip all the time, and its very dangerous to have the front or back slide out. On sand, it would be nearly impossible to handle it, even with sand tires. The next reason is that if you have a slightly bad crash on a streetbike, you usually cant just pick it up and keep going. My brother has crashed a streetbike before, and bent the frame. He laid it down on a paved road at about 60 and it slid into a field at about 25 and fliped over a few times on it side and thats all it took to bend it. The bike isnt meant to take alot of off road abuse either. You can crash a dirtbike 1000 times and never have frame trouble, but not so with a streetbike. But it does sound like fun to me, just not that safe.

Let me tell you this, This was so funny. I was at Pismo Beach last memorial day weekend and there was this spot that everyone rode up in between campsites, it was like a path to the dunes. Well out in the dunes just 100 or so yards straight out the pathway was a burm that some quad riders made from an earlier track. When campers heard someone coming up the path everyone would stand up and watch because know one would really see the burm unless you came right up on it and if you were moving a good speed there would be no time to stop. Well to talk about the street bike issue, there was this guy who had a ninja bike with rear paddles on the back come cruising up the pathway towards the dunes and instantly everyone stood up and he gave it the gas and in no time he had a rooster tail 20 ft above the bike just going. Well like I said before when you see the burm its too late. He hit that burm from the back side and he went end over end two times!! and when it was all over he got up and shook himself off and got on the bike and it started right up and away he went back out of the dunes cuz I dont think he wanted anymore of that. But the bike did look cool with the rooster going and man it was a site to see. It didnt look like he busted any plastic off as I was watching for that when he picked it up but he seemed to be fine. Just thought about this since this thread was posted.
