Oil

The Warrior's clutches will allow the use of automotive oil.
Just stay away from your "premium blends" as they usually cause clutch slippage as well as leaving alot of varnish in the cases after being thrashed through the gear box on one where the oil wasn't changed regularly.

I've used Quaker State 10W-30 in mine since the first oil change. No problems with any clutch slippage. Per manual Yamalube 10w30 or SAE 10W30 for operation in 10 degree F to 100 degree F. 20W40 for 40 to 115 degrees. Many posts say to stay away from oils with friction addatives. They will screw the clutch up.

What about a Raptor, what brand can they run in the engine other than the yamahalube? I heard as long as it meets the required SAE requirements and is a non Friction oil it will work but I want mine to last not slip or start burning oil.

With all the money you have in the Raptor, don't cheap out on oil,on a higher performance quad like that, engine stress on the oil will be even more than normal. Stay with Yamalube,or other 4 stroke wet clutch rated oil. I found some 4 stroke wet clutch oil at Mills Fleet Farm called Trophy,it is OEM certified on all major motorcyle brands, and is only 1.65 a quart!! been using it a couple of years,no problems.
