Default Front caliper..

Anyone have a front caliper they arent using, or one that is trashed? I need ONE part out of it. yamaha doesnt sell any part of the caliper..you have to buy the whole damn thing. What I need is the hex head bolt that attaches to the mounting plate. If anyone has one laying around..please let me know.
PM me or email me at avs20@attbi.com

You may have gotten what you were looking for, but if not, I just want to confirm something with you.

Looking in page 4-29 of the manual (from what you described) it would be #6 in the parts list, yes? "The brake caliper mounting bolt (s)".

If that's the case, I realy don't understand why Yamaha wouldn't or couldn't sell you one of those bolts. Nothing specail about them.
There is no need for the entire assembly, but I guess I have seen alot of BS designs from Yamaha too, but we won't get into that!

Make a stop at your local NAPA dealer and I am sure they will have something for you that will work just fine. I know, I have had to use them for a few things. LOL

swytak..it's not the mounting bolt. It is one of the bolts that holds the mounting bracket in place. It is #4 on page 4-29. I wasn't able to find it on the microfiche..so Im guessing you cant buy it seperately. I doubt it is included in a brake rebuild kit.

Im going to try and retap the hole..and use a die on the bolt..and see how that works. It *should* fix it...but I wont know until tomorrow.

Hhhhmmm............I haved to say, that this is one of the few bolts that hasn't been taken out of my Rap.............yet! LOL

Still odd, that you can't just purchase that bolt though.

If you need help, let me know. I have some connections through a local dealer.

Well..I fixed the caliper today. I had to get creative..but it works great. I'm still going to talk to my dealer and see what they say about that part. Maybe they have some old parts laying around from a wrecked raptor or something. Anyways, just thougth I'd give an update on my situation. Thanks again swytak.
