I NEED HELP FAST
#1
I am going to look at this used banshee for sale tommorow and I need some advice fast. I need to know what to look for to know if the banshee is in good condition or not. The banshee as it is, is not in that good of condition looks wize (a little rust, dirt ect) but has been in storage for alot of time. what i mean by not that good condition is according to him, who i talked to on the phone, it has some rust on it. It kinda shows in the picture also, not too shiney like other banshees are. I am really low on cash right now so i am going looking for a banshee for very cheap. The guy is asking 2500 for the shee. The banshee is an 1989 with toomey t5's probally rusted like mad (or are they supposed to be that color of dark shiney metal?) it also has K&N set up with 2 into 1. Kevlar seat?, amp link, Meier nose? twist throttle, Renthal bars, sand skates, but he said that the person who used it bought the wrong front tire for it so it is miss matched. Is this a good idea to buy a banshee like this? what should i look for when i go to check it out tommorow? also the owner noted that it has J arms instead of A arms what is the difference between the two?
Are a arms better than j arms? or does it matter?
thanks

In just a few words, I wouldn't touch that quad with a fork! All the rust indicates poor maintenance, not to mention the mismatched tires, etc. Keep in mind that these are just the visible signs of sloppy maintenance and the unseen things like engine, tranny, bearings, etc are the defects one will see after the sale. I wouldn't think $2500 for a 14 yr old machine is a steal even without the negative warning signs.
