Default QUICK HELP ~ please

I have removed my axle on a few occassions like when extending my swingarm, but I have never removed the axle from the bearing carrier.

If just changing out axles, do I leave the carrier fastened in the swingarm and tap the axle out? Or, should I remove the carrier and the axle from the swingarm and then remove the axle from the carrier?

Please help fast, I'm wanting to start taking it out!!

Thanks to any and all that can help!!

TOID,
Just slide the axle out. There is no need to pull the carrier or anything else.

Like you said...... leave the axle carrier in the swingarm and tap the axle out.

I would suggest you place a block of wood on the end of the axle and bang it out. Do not bang the axle......
you will mess the thread up and not be able to put the axle nut back on.

eRaptoid, I hope your axle comes out easier than mine did. It took ALL DAY to change the axle bearings in my Banshee this weekend. Even though I ride dunes there was rust in there that made it EXTREMELY difficult to get everything apart. When you put yours back together make sure you put a coat of grease on EVERYTHING even if it is not a surface that wears or rides on something else; you don't want rust there.

Oh yeah, she's ready to roll again! I also replaced the bearings and seals while I was in there. That steel sleeve/spacer between the two bearings was rusted pretty darn bad!! Why didn't they make that sleeve out of aluminum or stainless?!?!?! DUH!!!

McFly, I went with the Lone Star Axcalibur! It sure is pretty!! Don't even want to get it scratched now! hehe

Wyo, I found out how hard it is to get it out alright! I thought it wasn't coming out to begin with. But it finally came out. And like you said, I cleaned everything real good and greased EVERYTHING completely! I do not want to go through that again!!!

Thanks guys for your input!!

What bearings did you use?

Stock or some other brand?
