Raptor cam that I have is the small one that ALBA sell with the piston & cam kits. I have 11:1 piston, K&N, White Bros Exhaust, Dyno Jets and no porting on the head. Is it O.K. to use the stage 2 without the porting,or should I stay with the stage 1. I Have to do something the WEB cam that I have is crap!

If your "competint" enough to do some minor head work, go biggger.... Stage-2. If not, atleast go WebCam 737 grind.

what parts of the intake and exhaust ports would a competint person look at? Is it just cleaning up the runners or would I be taking out a certain amount of material? If it's pretty simple I'll takle it but if its tough I might sent the head to Trinity or someone that has had sufficient exsperiance with Raptors. Any guess on what the average cost on just the head would be?

Three to four hundred bucks will get you a port and polish, depending on where ya go!

Valve guide work "might" need to be done to get to the correct clearance as called for by Hotcam for the Stage-2.

Trinity is currently testing the stage-2 cam and I would recommend you atleast call and speak with Harry about what he has found. Being the guy he is, he will give you his honest opinion even if you don't decide to have them do any work for you.

I will say this, the Stage-2 cam "looks" (by specs) to be the best available cam, where specs are available. There is a DEFINITE need for better "drag race style" cams for the Rap.

I have nearly the same set up and am running the stage 11 cam without any head modifications...although it could certainly use the port work...it still runs GREAT...and has more potential. The valve guide machining is easy and only neccesarry on some raptors. Go for it. BRAAAP!
