What are the best after market tires for a wolverine. Is the titan 489 24" is a good choice. Does 24-9-12 fits on the rear. What is the actual widht of the 24-11-12. I don't to loose too much bottom end power.

I had a Wolverine with Maxxis AlTracs in 25". Man did they trail ride great and worked in all riding conditions. Now I have sold the Wolverine and my brother uses the AlTracs on his 02 BigBear with the same results.

 

Love my Goodyears. They grab real nice in the mud. But they "float" a little a high speed. Only makes riding more fun.
The extra traction does suck the power though so you might want to get a pipe, K&N etc

 

leoj12, I am wondering the same thing. Do they make the 489XT's in 24-10-12? If not, I guess 24-11-12 would be the next best as 24-9-12 seems a little small, but would these rob too much power? Does anyone have any experience with these tires or have any other suggestions?

 

leoj12, finding tires for the wolverine has always been a problem. The only other tire besides the stock dunlops that are 23'' and fit a 12'' rim are the 489's. That set up -23's on 12'' rims- is IMO still the best for how the wolverine was meant to perform. The low profile enables much sportier cornering and keeps your needed low end. I have never tried the 489 XT,s but have heard some good things about them. Even these tires may take some of your bottom due to more agressive tread and heavier-6-ply.
