New tires for 03 Grizz, 589's???
Have to get new tires soon for my Grizz and am hearing good things about the 589's. I want to move up to a 26" tire. Should I stick with the same OEM width's though ? How about handling and power consumption? I run bearclaws on my kodiak and they are a great tire but I wanted to try somthing different on the Grizz. I ride trails and mud when it can be found. Don't really need a total mud tire. Thanks for any info.

We use the 27" 589's and win the local mud bog every year. They are quite a meaty tire. One thing you will notice right off is how easily they steer at slow speeds, which translates into less steering traction at higher speeds but if you ride in mud they are one of the best tires you can get

i highly recomend this tire. the tread is amazing. it is a must to replace the stock tires it you do anything more than medium trail riding. they give you are much traction in 2wd that you get with 4wd with the stock tires. they are nor only good in mud, but on trails too. they grab a hard packed dirt surface around a tight turn great. saved my @ss many times.

I run Titan 589 MT's on my Grizz and love them. They are an excellent allaround tire, that will keep you happy no matter what kind of riding you are doing.
I would recommend sticking with the 25" size to reduce the strain on the steering and suspension parts.....and you will also maintain all the power by not adding 40+ pounds of weight with the larger size tires. The added 1/2" of ground clearance with 26" tires, or the added 1" of ground clearance with the 27" tires just isn't worth it in the long run.
