Default raptor and predator engine question...VIP!!

thats quite possible. I dunno, he seems to have a thing for polaris. He likes that there american made and he says that have a lotta firsts. first snomobiles. But he has 2 polaris quads 1 snomobile and a yamaha dirtbike. He swears by them. So who knows. But then again, the z only has like 4 months on the predator. So either way id be buying first year quads. The whole thing about the titanium components in the raptor got me a little scared. I was under the impression that the engine was a breakthrough in engine design and thats y it was patented but it seemes like its nothing special now.

o man, what to do, what to do. thanks for all the replies, u have no idea how much i appreaciate em

My first choice would be a Raptor and my second choice would be a DS!

yeah well i just thought, the predator is already 500 less than the raptor so if anything does get screwed up, im already 500 ahead.

BTW, does anybody know why the trannies on the 01 raptors blew?

Gears not stong enough.

Faliure only happens if you shortshift under heavy load without using the clutch . ie. drag racing!!!

Don't forget, with any new quad, first year or not, you get a 6 month warrenty on the Polaris. For like $100 bucks more, you get an extended warrenty, I think the extension is for one year, so you get a year and 6 months. Might be a good idea!! Have fun!!

thank you for reminding me of that. That brings me to my next question which i did say earlier because i made my own answer due to assumptions.

What does the warranty really cover??? i was saying how i could just get the warranty to cover my *** for a year and a half and that would pretty much cover the machine for the time it is most probable bugs will become evident. But then i said to myself, what about the 01 raptors??? what about all the people who had trannies that blew. There wasnt no stinkin recall as far as i know and i dont think the warranty covered it or else people would be so weary about having them/purchasing them

waddaya guys think? thanks

The warrenty did cover the tranny on the Raptor, as long as it blew within the 6 months that the warrenty covered, or if they purchased the extended warrenty. My buddy had his starter clutch blow on him, after the manufacturer warrenty was over, but his extended warrenty covered it. The extended warrenty covers just about anything, except for normal wear and tear, like tires, bearings (unless causing an engine failure) sprockets, chains, stuff like that. Again, good luck! I get my TLD in December!
