Default yo blaster ppl !! come here

hey i dont know how many of you read my post earlier about how my engine juss quit? wel i think we figured it out.. i think we didn tput the rings in the right exact spot so it ran for a solid 5 minutes and when it vibrated around it popped the top off of my piston... this ever happen to anyone? lol is it a common mistake? or have yo guys ever heard of this happening???

Well you did not have the Rings on right. I have never heard of that happening befor.
Did it ruin your Piston?

i dont know what happened exactly but that is my best geuss i should be taking it back apart this weekend and i will find out then. i will post what happened im almost 100 percent positive we didnt do the rings right because we juss threw em on tehre and then put the piston in.. lol i was in kinda a hurry [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] i wanted to ride it had been months.. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] so hopefully thats all it was and nothing major juss go spend another 100$ oon a new piston and rings and put em in there right this time!

change to oil again just to be safe..

OOOPS! B2F caught me with my raptor hat on. forget changing the oil, unless it smells cooked..

make sure when you install the new piston and rings you break it in properly before you start romping around. if you got alittle rev happy before the rings could seat properly might have caused the failure. You might also think about rubbing some oil on the piston and cylinder walls when you put everything back together it will help everything stay lubed during the first startup.

So your saying the piston came off the rod correct? If so you will be lucky if their is no cylinder scoring. Time for a rehone?

if you dont break the engine in right will that happen? because i doubt i did cuz tehre was ice every where so i was revving pretty good... maybe thats the case.. if so then what damage was done? how do you properly break the engine in? and why should i get the vitos power piston?
