Default How much top end will my Wolverine lose with 20" Razrs?

I just bought Maxxis Razr's for my wolverine. On the front I got 20x6-10 & for the back 20x11-10. I know they will fit with spacers I already bought one 10" ITP wheel for the front just to make sure before I bought everything else, so getting them to fit wont be a problem.

My question is how much top end do think I will lose with this tire & wheel package? Sometime in near future I'm getting high comp piston & racing cam w/springs to help out alittle.

Uh..... wouldn't you gain because they are smaller and lighter? Just get a bigger front sproket or rear sproket and youll end up with more than you started with.

Dangit i do that every time, always forget that darn driveshaft. Lol (second time ive told a wolverine to get a new sproket), guess ur gonna lose some top speed then, youll get over it when u feel all the new bottom end.

By dropping from a 23" tire to a 20", not only will you loose a lot of ground clearance,(those ruts you used to cruise over will be grabbing your axle a lot) But you will be dropping about 17 percent off your top end. If top speed was 50, now it will be about 43,first gear will be almost useless, you will be revving out after the first 10 feet. If acceleration is your goal, it will probably launch like a rocket, but flatten out fast as it reaches max rpms, and will probably corner real nice. So if you ride smooth, twisty trails, you will like it. The first mud hole you hit will have the kids on the Badger 80's kicking mud on you as they putt by you giggling. Just my point of view, after all, this is America, we are free to do what we want, so have fun !!!

Jakal- I am soooo mad I wasn't able to bust you a second time on the sprocket, I'm getting slow in my old age !!!!!!

Just wait, I know ill do it again. What I am wondering is how fast this thing is going to be out of the hole and around a track, if it were setup for it. Id love to see a low wolverine doing donuts with all 4 tires spinning. As for mud, hit it going fast and pray you dont get slowed down by something. I was mudding one day and doing great but a tree branch slowed me down and it was all over.

TO find out exactly how fast you will go with smaller tires, you need to do some simple math,

Find out your speed with stock tires, then multiply that number by the size of tire (in your case 20)
Then divide that by your stock size (23)
i used this equation to find out how fast my wolvy would go with 22 inch tires

my quad does 58 mph so i did 58x22 divided by 23= aproximaptly 55.5
so i would lose 2.5 mph with 1 inch smaller tires
