isnt the 250f a 4-stroker? i thought it was.... im 2-stroke all the way baby .. so that 99 yz250 with new top eng puts out about 52 hp? tahts pretty sweet... how does it respond to pipes? and i was gonna put the v-force 2 reed thingy in there also.. would it help it at all? maybe i should look at the 250f... hmm do you got the hp on that thing?

Heres a worked over one and it only makes 40hp and thats with been ported, carb polished and piped :Dyno chart Which means unless you spend some money on it the 240 kit people are going to be owning you. Is a 97, unless they made some HUGE changes I doubt a newer one will be much better than this modded 97. As for too much vibration, find some sort of dampener to put on the engine or use rubber motor mounts like the other guy said. Option B is to brace the frame.

where didja get that dynbo chart from? he also said witha new top end... that can make a world of diff. if that one with the dyno had a bad top then ofcoarse its gonna put out bad HP.... ive seen numerous dynos on stock yz250's and they all show about the same.

ok i juss looked up the yz250 HP.. i looked at about 10 differnet websites and they all are saying about the same... they were all in the 40-50 HP range to the wheels.. not the crank the wheels.

I don't think that the project would be too difficult. As for vibration...I don't think it would be a problem. The newer bikes don't vibrate like the old ones. I had an '89 YZ 250 and the torque was great. My last bike, a 2000 KTM 250MXC, would've made an awesome quad. I seriously thought about buying a frame to turn it into a KTM quad.
It may be easier to get the whole bike and then swap the parts over. I say go for it and good luck!
