Default trail tech lights

I just installed some trail tech lights and have noticed that they seem to be fogging up inside the sealed lens. I have only had them on for a few seconds but It seems that they should not be fogging up.

Has anyone else had this happen? Has is caused any problems? Also any problems with water geting in these lights?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

When I first put on my Trail Tech lights They fogged a bit.
It's from the moisture in the bulbs from manufacturing, leave them on a couple of min & it'll burn off.
I hauled my Raptor in the back of my truck in the rain & water did get in the bulbs.
I called Trail Tech & told them about it & they said they had upgraded the bulbs & sent me a new pair free.

The Trail Tech bulbs are expensive, I got some bulbs at Lowes for around $4 each. They're track light bulbs & are much cheaper than Trail Techs. They aren't the same high quality as Trail Techs but for the price they work well, & I'll be hauling the Raptor in an enclosed trailer soon so problem solved!!

It looks like the actual bulb unit is sealed with the lens. I can see how water could get into the alluminum housing, but how does it get in past the lens to the bulb? I ride in lots of water/mud and hoped these lights would be fairly waterproof.

I am glad to hear that the moisture will burn off. In fact I checked them this AM and they are clear again.

Does the bulb @ Lowes come with a new lens? I talked to a guy at the Yamaha dealership who had just ordered some bulbs for his LazerStars and they came without a lens. He was going to have to have a glas shop cut him one. That does not seem right to me at all.

Thanks for the help.

Some of the bulbs at Lowes have lenses & some do not. It depends on what they stock. Home Depot carries them too.
Just check them first.

I run 1~50 watt spot & 1~50 watt flood. My stock Stator runs them fine.
They work great at the dunes at night, they really rock!!

The only serious problem I've had with them is when I tried 2~75 watt bulbs. They got too hot & melted the connectors!!
Stick with the 50's & you'll be fine.

the bulbs in lowes and home depot are with their halogen bulbs hanging on pegs . look at the packages some are spots and some are floods . watch the wattage also . dont know if you have upgraded your stator if you put them on a two stroke . they have 35 watt 50 , and 75 . the ones i got were the complete bulb .
