Raptor sprocket
#1
I'm replacing the front sprocket on my '01 bike and was wondering if I should go back with stock or go for one with less (or more?) teeth. What about a forged one? Any information about this would be greatly appreciated!

Depending on what kind of riding you do, you may like the 14x40 combination. I used it for a while, but after goiong with the Trinity 686 kit it was hard to keep the speed down on trail riding and puttering around the yard. You will gain about 7 mph on top end.

Depends what your trying to achieve raptorjay.
I wanted top end so I went to the 14 tooth front sprocket.
I also likedit for drag racing...............believe it or not. 1st. gear becomes useable instead of using a 2nd gear start. It's all in what you want to do. The 14 is also good in the sand (my oppinion). On a trail ride there is no way I would want a 14 tooth front sprocket, but the new stock gearing for the 2002 models (13-40) is a nice setup.
