The case around the clutch arm is only 1/8 thick if that. I have repaird enough busted cases from just a 14tooth and a worn chain or a 14 tooth and a stone.
Grinding the case is just an accident waiting to happen.
You would be alot better off going with a smaller rear or taller tire.

I have no idea how old you are but good luck finding an insurance company to insure your 2 stroke peformance ATV for the street. I only know of about 3. Even if you were able to insure it for on road use, have it saftey checked and passed, you will still likely be stopped by every cop in the country. If you got a lot of time to spend in court fighting tickets go ahead. It's bad enough with all the young riders out there in cars let along a bunch of kids on piped and ported ATV's.
The only legal conversions I have seen were for people with disabilities, for a buisiness , farmers or emergency workers. Very few other exceptions are made.
BUY a car
back inn my home town in nothern Ontario it was legal to ride an ATV on any unpaved highway as long as you followed the rules of the road and had proper gear and paperwork and plated and insured for OFF ROAD. But I was still stopped by every cop I ever saw. After spending a few days in court I decided it was not worth it to fight the tickets and just stay off the roads.
