Default Programming the Dyna FS

I recieved my programming kit today. This thing is absolutely simple. Dynatek has perfected user friendliness. If you have any idea on how to tune ignition curves, you can map one in a matter of seconds. Other fine product from Dyna. I have been extemely pleased with the product and service.

By the way, when you buy their programming kit, you get all of the software to program all of their igntions. The software for the Yamaha Raptor is also included, so the ignition shouldn't be far behind.

I ordered the ignition and programming kit from Pro-flo. They had the best price.

Cool, have you had a chance to try different programs to see how they effect performance?

Ward, I haven't yet had the chance to program it. I had a VERY busy weekend.

I tried the stock and 3 other curves that come preset. The 3 others gave noticeable increase over stock and you could tell slightly between each. But they were similar to notice a huge difference between them.

I will post when I get a chance to program and jet.

I downloaded the curves to the ignition Monday night. It took 13 seconds to finish down loading. I need a laptop, because it takes longer to pull the two bolts and take the ignition off and bring it in the house, than it does to map a curve and download it.

Stock curve for a banshee has 17 degrees initial timing, 22 degrees total, and 13 degrees final. I mapped a curve that had 20 degrees intial, 25 degrees total, and 18 degrees final. It picked up response, power, and smoothed the powerband. I have yet to rejet, although it needs it. I used the built in RPM switch to power a shift light set to come on at 3000 off at 3500, on at 4000 off at 4500. This allowed me to ride the bike to see where the dead spot (right before I come on the pipe due to junk stock ports) is in comparison to RPM. I can now adjust timing to try to smooth this spot. I will then move the light over to the other RPM switch which has only one on/off adjustment. Also, on the banshee, I can set a launch RPM. This is a lower RPM rev limit for holeshoting.

I am still consantly impressed with this ignition. Dynatek tech support is also great. I hope to see others give it a try.

Alky, who is "pro-flo"? How much did it set you back on the Banshee? WHat are your thoughts now?

Pro-flo is a company in CT that races two-stroke steet bikes such as the RD/RZ. I found them at www.pro-flo.com while looking for the best price on the Dyna. Their price was $280 fot the programmable. I called a couple of weeks ago about the raptor and although I cant remember the price, I know it was cheaper than other prices I had heard. The programming kit was another $170. I still recommend the programmable.

I put the dyna on the TT bike for the first time on Thurday and although that day is kind of fuzzy (read my thread about helmets), I know it was EXTREMELY fast. I just used the same curve I run on the playbike, so a specific curve and the right jetting will help. PM me if you have any more questions.
