Replacing rear 01 shock
#5
There is no special trick that I know of. I just released all the bolts and out it came.
One tip.....when you are putting the new shock in.
make sure all bolts are LOOSLY in place before tightening them.
this helps in getting the swingarm linkage (bush) back in place.
I did not compress the shock at all. I just used a jack that lifted the bike high enough so that the swingarm extended to maximum.

So you removed the shock by way of the linkage? how do you get at the top bolt? That mother on the right is difficult to get to with the pipe in the way. It was cold out there so I didn't last too long.

Cold, thats gotta suck. Its summer here.......30 degrees
I removed my slip on pipe to get at that top bolt. Makes life a whole lot easier.
Remember to re-grease the linkage nipple after installation
What shock are you installing?
