Race gas needed in 2 stroke?? how to tell??

Hey guys, I just had my Zillas head shaved, although not sure how much. He said it was shaved either 5, or 50 thousanths. (dont remember, which one sounds right?) Anyway, this is the second time its been shaved. After I got it back together, trying to start it would sometimes result in backfiring though the carb. (and once, almoast breaking my leg) When it would start, it sounded good though.
He also bored the carb to 39.25 MM. Im not sure if this is just a carb adjustment, or if the backfiring is due to the high compression.
When I am riding it, the motor sounds good, an is a *hellava* lot stronger. I think it was rich before... and the opened up carb made it spot on, also.

Use a compression checker then do the math
Otherwise, throw in some octane booster just to be safe, or run 50/50 race/normal gas. Werent you the guy trying to get monster power from his zilla? If so, 39mm isint near big enough if you want some big time power

you probably will have to run 100 octain gas . i went with the cool head on mine with 59cc dome and i could not run pump gas with out problems . i have to run 112 octain fuel . at 5.75 a gallon ! unical 76 makes good race fuel . airraptor is correct about the octain booster . it just doesnt work .

Im trying to get as much power as I can, but you can only bore the stock carb so much.
But let me tell you this, before these two mods (head shaved and carb bored) it wouldnt slip the clutch.
After these mods, one romp up the street and the bike is parked.
(clutch slipping badly)
The guy who does the work for me (Jeff @ tudors) has been building Zillas since they were new.
I think he knows what combos work with eachother well.
Thanks for the advise, guys.
