While you are in there, don't forget too closely inspect those shift forks. One of mine had quite a bit of wear....I say replace all 3. I went with the Fortinized gears......the 02's ratios will slow acceleration through 3rd.

It's just sitting as I get prices together. I'm going to go with the 2002 set. Complete tranny. It will be inspected and if anything else needs replacing I'll have them do it. I'm going to have them closely inspect the oil pump gear everyone talks of. So far Alba is the winner and it aint cheap. They want $610.00 for parts + tax and 12 hours labor at $65.00 an hour. Trinity wants $1000.00 for parts and $425.00 for labor. Chaparral wants $240.00 tear down and then give me estimates. If I don't like what I hear I'm out $240.00 and I get a box of parts. My local Yamaha dealer wants $800.00 labor + parts. Malcolm Smith motor sports wants $500.00 labor plus parts but won't give estimate on parts until its opened up.

Trinitys turn around is 1 week if parts are available. Alba has all the parts in stock for 3 tranny sets and their turn around is 4 days. If I take it to them Tuesday I should have it back by this weekend. All of these prices range from $1100-$1400 or so. How is it some got theres done for under $1000.00??

So much for getting a Piston/Cam installed while there. $1500.00 is all I could go to do the swap and piston/cam if I sqeeze some money out my azz, it appears that will be used up just for a new tranny.

break out the tools and use the book, you will learn that it does not take a brain surgen to do the job and you will save enough to do all the other stuff you wanted plus go to gamis on it. Just a thought to get you thinking. LOL

LOL Bob. Specialty tools I do not have. Everything else I'm sure I have. If I had a proper working area and extra money to play with if I screw up, I might try it. I need it done right the first time. I mean, I don't even have a garage.
