Have you had any problems running these clearances Barltett?

 

I installed a cam and piston and springs in my Griz 660 and the valves are VERY loud. This is due to the stronger springs...that could be all your hearing.

 

I installed a stage 1 HC + JE 10.75/1 and my engine is very quiet. I have even posted before about how quiet this set-up is. Been using with recommended clearances. One thing is for sure.....you are applying more pressure on your springs with less clearance.
