Default 8" 9" 10" rims ?

I am going to put Holeshot MX tires on my Raptor. I know the rear rims are 9" . Would there be any advantages to getting 8" or 10" rims or should I stay with the 9" rims? thanks

The smaller the rim the more "cushion" you have but the less cornering ability, just the opposite for the larger. It works the same as the size of tires minus the gearing change.

The way I understand it is if you have a track that is dry slick/hardpacked use the ten inch rim, they bite better in this condition. Loamy, loose tracks use a 8 inch rim, they grab better in this situation without rolling over like they do on hardpack. The nine inch is the best of both worlds.

The way I look at it...the 10" rims are way better looking on an sport quad; and thats half the battle right?

I'm curious if the answer is any different for trail riders... I'm guessing that the 10" rims of the same tire height would dent easier because of the shorter sidewall. Anyone have experience with that?

Your right, plus an eight incher gives you a softer ride because of the size of the side wall.

Thats the way I look at it.

If you are only going to get one size rim and don't care about looks get the 9 inchers. They are the best of the two.
