2003 Yamaha 660R Raptor vs. 2003 Suzuki QuadSport Z400
#1
Hey,
This is my first post here. I recently got into quads. I have read through the previous posts by using the search function, so please don't ask me to search.
Anyway, according to what I have read, it seems the Yamaha 660R Raptor has more power while the Suzuki QuadSport Z400 has better handling. Is this true?
I like power but I also like good handling. Which do you recommend for me?

A lot of people say the raptor can't handle as well as some other bikes, but for my rideing style and size 6" 190 lbs, it works great. Ive ridden a KFX 400 and it definately does not have the power my Raptor has. If it's possible to test ride both that would be the ticket.

Thanks.
However, how much better is the handling of the Suzuki Z400 than the Yamaha 660R Raptor? Is it that much better that you would give up the extra power of the Yamaha and get the better handling of the Suzuki?

Sorry, but I am totally new to ATVs. What exactly is MX style riding?
Secondly, I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We mainly only have dunes/sand/dessert here.

Thanks.
However, this will be my first ATV. Is the 2003 Yamaha 660R Raptor a good ATV to learn on?

Get the raptor. The Z has alot less power but ride them first and you will decide quick. Plus in the dunes is where you will see a big time loss of power in the Z
hope this helps

Welcome Kain,
Tell us more about you (age, size, experience with similar machines?)
Either of the bikes you mention would be a handful to an entirely new rider.
It is not fun to learn the hard way!
